Party Planning Tips: Mastering the Decor

party-decorating-tips-on-budget

With 100 guests on the list and only a few weeks to pull it all together, I’ve been hard at work on the decorations for my grandma’s 70th birthday party!

I’m about 90% done with the prep work and I can’t wait to see it all come together on August 6th. And yes, I’ll be sharing it here on the blog!!

This is my first time being IN CHARGE of decorations for a large celebration (100 people!). I was excited and nervous to take on this creative challenge but I’m thrilled with how well everything has worked out.

Now as I reach the end of this project, I wanted to share my tips for nailing the decorations on your next big shindig. Continue Reading

Natural & Glowy Summer Makeup with e.l.f. Cosmetics

summer-makeup-drugstore

As part of the e.l.f. beauty squad of influencers, I get to test out a variety of their products each season and share my thoughts with you! I always keep it real because I would hate for you to spend your money on a poor quality product.

I also know that the makeup aisle can get a little overwhelming. It’s hard to know what actually works!

Today we’re chatting about the natural and glowy summer products that I’ve been testing out. I have been loving e.l.f.’s bronzers and natural lip shades! I prefer when makeup is used to accentuate your natural beauty as opposed to trying to build a new face and these products are great at highlighting your beauty!

So let’s talk bronzer. Featured here is their Baked Bronzer in Los Cabos. Because it’s darker brown and not golden, I use it on my cheeks, hairline, and the outer corners of my eyes, for a super natural version of contouring. I love the shimmer and color of this bronzer, I use it daily in conjunction with their Sunkissed Glow Bronzer (not shown above).

So why two bronzers? Well, the Sunkissed Glow Bronzer is perfect for brushing all over my face. It gives me a healthy glow without looking too dark and fake. It also reflects the light in a way that helps reduce the appearance of imperfections. Whenever I’ve had a late night, I love using this to help me look refreshed and glowy. Continue Reading

Casual Beach Style: Comfy Sweater & Denim Shorts

A sweater might not be the first thing you think of when heading to the beach over the summer but a sweater made of breathable knit is a great option for strolling the pier.

I bought the sweater I’m wearing at an Express outlet on my way in to Las Vegas a few month back. Did you know that Express had outlet stores? Everything is a lot more affordable so you can shop more!

If you aren’t heading to Vegas anytime soon, their is another Express outlet in the Ontario Mills mall. I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet but I hear it’s filled with great stuff!
