The future of at home acne care has arrived!

Neutrogena® has the coolest new light therapy acne mask and today I’m going to show you how to use it and explain how it works.

First, and most importantly, this acne mask is chemical-free, FDA cleared, UVA/UVB-free and it is not hot. It is completely safe to use. So continue being excited to try it and let’s chat about where to buy the mask, how to use it, and why you’re going to love it!

Where to Buy Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask

You can purchase a mask by visiting your local Walmart and stopping by their acne aisle.

Included in the the mask  box is a 1 month supply/30-day activator. You will need to purchase a new activator each month to continue your treatment. Thankfully, the refill is super affordable at only $14.97, which breaks down to only 50¢ a day!

Unboxing and Set Up

Open the box containing your new mask! Attach the 30 day activator (included) to the end of the cord. This is where the on/power switch is located.

That’s it! You’re ready to begin improving your acne.

Your First At Home Acne Light Therapy Treatment

It’s important to cleanse your face before starting your treatment, but be careful NOT to use any products containing an active ingredient such as: Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Adapalene, etc.

Once your face is clean, put the mask on and press and hold the power button for a second. The lights will turn on and your treatment will begin.

Since the mask is lightweight and comfortable you can either lay back and relax on the couch while it works or take advantage of the viewing slot and text friends.

After your 10 minute treatment is complete the mask will automatically shut itself off.

Understanding How the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask Works

The masks has two light colors. The blue light kills 99% of acne-causing bacteria and the red light reduces acne inflammation. This process will allow the skin to naturally heal itself.

The mask’s powerful light therapy can go deeper than ordinary products without the use of any harsh chemicals. It’s so effective that 98% of people tested showed results. Similar light therapy treatments can get really pricey at a dermatologists office so this is a major win for all of us budget babes!

You may notice results in as little as 1 week but the best results are seen after 12 weeks so continue using your mask daily for clearer, healthier looking skin. (Do not use more than once per day)

Why not more than once daily? Is there any other reason besides having a pay for another activator? I was wondering if I could use morning & night at the first few days. I’m not worried about the cost of new activator.

      Hi Liz,

Great question! Using it more than once might be drying and not allow your skin time to heal properly. I highly recommend sticking to one treatment per day.

      Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Putla! As long as your night time skincare routine doesn’t contain any Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, or Adapalene, you should be fine. You can also give your dermatologist a call to confirm!

I’m not sure on the details of why but I’m guessing it’ll be too much treatment to the delicate skin on your face. Let me know how it goes!

Hi Khendum! I don’t know the specific details but I imagine it has to do with not over treating your skin which will do more harm than good. Hope that helps!

Hi Niki, just wondering if I can use LA MER Treatment Lotion → SKII Facial Treatment Essense → LA MER Gel Cream? If so, should I do it before or after the session? Cheers.

      Hi Ray!

You can continue using those products if they don’t contain an active ingredient such as: Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Adapalene, etc.

If you notice any type of negative reaction, be sure to stop use and consult with a dermatologist!

Also, the only thing you need to do before using the mask is to cleanse your face.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions 🙂

Can i disconnect the activator after every use and it will still be fine if i “reactivate” my mask (will the same sessions still be there) / does it make a difference in the battery life if i do that?

      Hi Mickey,

Unfortunately, disconnecting the activator won’t make it last any longer! I recommend keeping it connected until you use up all of your sessions.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I know you’Ve answered the question on whether or not we can disconnect the activator from the mask. However, I am confuse with what you said, “it wont make it last any longer” do you mean it will still work fine, it just wont increase sessions? As I am planning on using one mask between me and my brother but two different activators. So like Ill disconnect one activator so he can use the mask and then reconnect mine later on.

Yes, changing activators will work but won’t increase sessions. Although, sharing a mask is not recommended for hygienic reasons.
