One of the biggest challenges of getting back in shape is what to wear while your body is still a “work in progress”.
First, you’re scrambling to work with whatever you have in your closet because you don’t want to invest in any new clothing until you reach your fitness goals. This isn’t just because you’re waiting to treat yourself, it’s because you never know what’s going to work best for your new body. Maybe you leaned out overall but added extra booty or thigh muscles. I tend to get lumpy, Lol. #RealTalk
Also, if you’re anything like me, you probably feel unready to wear anything form fitting. If you’ve got the confidence to rock a bodycon dress right now, go for it! I just don’t feel comfortable highlighting my trouble areas.
So what fierce date night outfit options are there for a girl in my current situation?
Enter this flowy, simple, and chic black dress!
I picked this baby up on Amazon for only $17! The quality is impressive and it actually feels like it’ll last years! And to think, I was just casually browsing the internet from bed one night and stumbled on this spaghetti strap dress.
What I love about this outfit is how sexy it makes me feel even though it’s not skin tight. I’ve been struggling to find clothes that give me that va-va-voom feeling for date night and are also flowy and flattering one me.
On its own, the dress felt a little too plain for a night out so I added a silky cardigan from Styles for Less and black ankle strap stilettos (my fav heel style) from MakeMeChic.com. If you’re in need of a pair of classic black heels that match everything, these are the shoes for you! They’re only $20 bucks and they work with EVERYTHING!
That wraps up the deets on this outfit but I’m excited to chat with you in the comment section!
I’m curious to hear your thoughts on dressing up while you’re in the process of losing weight and adding muscle to your body. What do you wear when you don’t feel bodycon ready but you still want to feel smokin’ hot? Maxi dress? Jeans and a pretty blouse? Let me know!
