Tattoo & Scar Coverage with Dermablend

Before and after makeup Tattoo cover upHappy Friday!

Today’s post is a quick follow up to Wednesday’s post. Because Dermablend offers such great coverage you can use it on scars, tattoos, and birthmarks. And even though it can hide a lot of imperfections, it remains lightweight and comfortable all day!

For my scar coverage I used 2 products: Quick-Fix Concealer & Intense Powder Camo. And for the tattoo cover-up I used 3 products: Leg & Body Cover, Quick Fix Body, and Setting Powder.

I’m not a makeup artist but I was still able to achieve great results. All the products are really easy to use. They each come with a little paper inside the package that offers directions for use, and more info on the product itself.

If you’re looking for an easy and effective way to cover-up a tattoo, scar, or birthmark, I highly recommend Dermablend. Being able to test this product out first hand has made me a believer! Lol. So cheesy… I know. But seriously, head to Ulta or Sephora and try it out if you’re still not sure. You’ll see why I love it so much.

Have a great weekend!

Makeup Transformation with Dermablend

Makeup Transformation Dermablend No Makeup before photo dermablend makeupOh joy, the moment when you share your bare face with the internet. Lol. I’m actually pretty excited to share my makeup transformation with you. And I don’t think it’s any surprise that I don’t wake up with flawless skin, pink cheeks and shimmery eyes. Does anyone?

My daily beauty routine typically involves a BB cream (or light foundation), blush, and mascara. I like to play with different lipstick colors but most of the time I use chapstick or gloss.

BUT, my makeup routine is completely different for special occasions, parties, weddings, and certain date nights. Like a lot of girls, I try to step it up and create a much more flawless face. The challenging thing is that my problem spots are tough to cover. I have acne scars on chin, a temple scar, nose bridge scar, and dark circles that require loads of traditional concealer.

I decided to try out Dermablend because every year we all attend so many special events. And wouldn’t it be awesome if we could show up looking flawless and feeling confident? Who wants to look back on those photos and be like, “oh yea… here’s me, my new husband, and my scar at our wedding”. Lol

I only had to use two products to create a clean and immaculate base! First, I applied Quick-Fix Concealer ($25) to cover my scars, blemishes and dark circles. I followed that up with an even coverage of Intense PowderCamo ($30) over my entire face (this provides buildable coverage so you can decide how much you need based on your skin). After that you can use your own blush and eyeshadow to finish off your picture perfect look!

I also want to point out how affordable these products are! They cost the same (or less) than makeup that doesn’t offer you high coverage, smudge resistant wear. Most products are also non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic, fragrance free, ophthalmologist-tested, allergy tested, and dermatologist tested

On Friday, I’ll be showing you how well Dermablend works on tattoos and I’ll give you an up-close look at scar coverage! For now, you can stop by their site and check out all of their products: www. Dermablend.com

Have a great day and I’ll see you back here for Friday’s post!

Demi Lovato Inspired Look with Rimmel London

demi lovato snapback lakers girl rimmel london diva redToday we are channeling an entirely different style vibe! Say hello to our style inspiration, Demi Lovato! Her look is sexy and casual. I thought it’d be perfect for a sporting event.

It can be tough to create a sexy & cute look without looking overdone for something like a basketball game. My advice is to bring the drama to your lips with a bold color and keep everything else simple. I used Rimmel London’s Moisture Renew in Diva Red.

Adding only subtle makeup to my eyes and leaving my hair straight, helped my final look to remain casual. I also had on a basic black knit dress and sneakers. I wish I could climb stadium stairs in heels but I can barely keep my balance when I walk down my slanted driveway! Haha.

I hope this post was helpful! In the comments let me know what you do to elevate a your look for a casual outing.

And also… I sort of felt like I was channeling the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. See below! Lol

The Best Travel Advice

travelstylequoteHappy Friday! While we were out shooting this outfit we noticed that the wall behind me gave off an “ancient ruins” vibe. I’m hopeful that next year we’ll be able to explore an exciting new location! But for every one who is lucky enough to be jetting off somewhere soon, I have one very important tip…

Have a wonderful weekend! I’ll be back with more posts on Monday!

Colorful Skirt & Flowy White Top

purple flower hair braidcasual pencil skirtHello again! Staring next week, I’m going to try and keep my blogging schedule consistent and post on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I just started a new job so a posting schedule will hopefully help me plan better around my new work hours.

In today’s post I’m sharing a colorful and casual outfit. The geometric skirt is from Nordstrom Rack. For awhile I had trouble wearing it because it seemed so businessy, like when I wore it here. My job doesn’t require typical “office attire” so I thought I might end up giving it away. But then, I put it on and started trying on a bunch of tops and found something that worked.

What do you think of the results?

tty soon!

Strapless White Dress

Friday I was featured on Lauren Conrad’s website and I’ve been smiling all weekend because of it. I’m excited to meet and chat with all the new visitors that stumbled onto my little blog. Please feel free to leave me your blog link in the comment section so I can stop by!

Today’s outfit, believe it or not, is another clearance find! Express has definitely impressed me with the cute pieces they have on sale. Next season I plan to hit the clearance sale early. I missed out on quite a bit because I went into the store towards the end of it.

I think this outfit is perfect for almost any warm weather special occasion. I’ve included a few links below if you’d like to try this look out yourself.

Enjoy!

$36 from Lulu’s

$26.99 from Charlotte Russe

$37.47 from New York & Company

I recently tried an a new blouse style, the halter swing top! It kept me cool but also looked dressier than a basic tank top. And guess what, it only cost $10 thanks to the clearance sale Express was having.

Unfortunately, Express is all sold out of these tops but I found a few similar items you can try if you’re interested in experimenting with this look.

I have no waist. I’m like a box with limbs and a melon stacked on top (you think I’m joking but I’m not, Lol). I can either find something that fits my waist or something that fits my chest and hips.

I’m hoping that as I continue working out my body will reshape in a way that’ll make shopping a little easier. But if not, oh well… there are other first world problems I can focus on. Like what if I go through life without ever having cable?! (note: I’ve never lived in a house with cable, the exception being one summer in middle school when my parents tried it out and then decided against it. It was the summer of Powerpuff Girls)

Back to the outfit! I found this skirt at H&M for $9.95. It’s so grown-up and feminine. The only downside is that the fabric has no stretch to it and I had to go up a size since it sits on my waist. It definitely fits me but I ate a breakfast burrito while wearing it and I started to lose confidence in the strength of the top button!

I love dressing up and sharing my style but I wanted to do a blog reality check and let you know that I have just as many fashion struggles as the next girl. At the end of the day, fashion should be fun. And if you’re not having fun, than what’s the point?!?!

Now it’s your turn to share, in the comment section let me know what your biggest clothes shopping struggle is.

Talk to you soon!
