I’ve finally been getting back into reading…sort of.
With the majority of my time spent at work or in traffic, the most effective way for me to consume a book these days is by listening to it. Still counts, right?
I’m a big Felicia Day fan already so I was dying to get my hands ( umm…ears?) on her new memoir, You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost).
Right off the bat, I have to tell you that Felicia’s personality and voice make this entire book super enjoyable and easy to listen to. Even the most thrilling suspense novel can feel like torture if read by a dull, monotone voice. Trust me, it can be brutal!
Thankfully her voice only added to her story and made it that much easier to relate to. At times it felt like she was a friend who called me on my way home from work to chat while we both sat in gridlock.
So much of her story resonated with me.
As a content creator, I know the struggle of trying to make things happen on your own or with a small team and limited resources. It’s terrifying and exhilarating to chase your dreams while feeling like you are solely responsible for your success or failure.
I also know what it’s like for there to be a giant gap between the things you went to school for and the creative pursuits that tug at your heart. The world is far from black and white, and trying to figure out the grey area is tough!
I don’t want to give too much away because this book is an absolute MUST READ!
You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), is an inspiring read filled with honesty, charming anecdotes, and tidbits of advice in their purest form.
