I was so excited to try the Neutrogena®  Light Therapy Acne Mask! And guess what? Today I’ll be chatting about my results after 4 weeks of treatment. If you haven’t read my first tutorial post on this cool new mask, you may want to start there: Post One

First off, I have to tell you how convenient it is to be able to use clinically proven light therapy from home and not have to go the Dermatologist. No appointment or pricey bill! Just an easy, affordable way to treat your acne from the comfort of your home. Everything you need, the mask and 30 day activator, can be found on the acne aisle at Walmart

Unlike the other methods I’ve used to fight breakouts in the past, the light therapy acne mask allowed my skin to heal without harsh chemicals. As someone with sensitive skin, I was so relieved to know that I wouldn’t have to deal with a bad skin reactions to chemical ingredients.

So, what were my results?

Well, I had a bad skin month so there were plenty of blemishes to treat! Thankfully, light therapy goes a lot deeper than traditional acne products. Here’s a full rundown of everything I experienced after 4 weeks of treatment:

Adding the light therapy mask to my routine was an enjoyable change. It allowed me to set aside 10 minutes everyday to focus on me. I liked relaxing on the my bed during each treatment, it was like a mini spa visit. But don’t worry, the mask is light and easy to move around with so you can keep texting, organizing your house, or reading during each treatment.

Like I mentioned earlier, I had a bad skin month and started this treatment with a few pimples already scattered over my face.

Nothing disappeared overnight but most blemishes shrunk and appeared less “angry” after a few treatments. The lights definitely worked as promised (blue light kills 99% acne-causing bacteria & red light reduces acne inflammation).

It does take 12 weeks to see the best results but I’m happy with the improvement I’ve seen over 4 weeks.

I love that this treatment works without any harsh chemicals (it’s also FDA cleared, UVA/UVB-free and is not hot). It absolutely sucks when you’re trying to treat one problem and you end up with another.

The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask is the perfect solution for everyone with sensitive skin!

Overall I was really happy with my results and I can’t wait to see my skin after the full 12 weeks. I have a feeling that this is the future of skin care!

Have a wonderful week!

I recently started using the Light therapy acne mask (3 times now) and I am very curious about what people do AFTER using the mask. I’m not sure whether I should just leave my skin bare, moisturize, or use my normal medicated products. Thoughts?

Hi Denise! You can follow your normal skincare regime after using the mask, just avoid products with Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Adapalene, etc. Usually I apply my night cream after the mask 🙂

What’s your initial reaction? How are liking it?
