Not every girl is going to be is going to headed to a costume party this year. Some of us will do the ‘too-cool-for-dressing-up’ party thing and the rest of us will probably stay home. I’m actually planning a sugar packed fun movie night with my boyfriend to celebrate Halloween. But does that mean us non-costume people are stuck wearing something boring? Umm….no. Lol.
If anything, I think we have a perfect excuse to wear something more daring. Halloween practically begs you to be bold and edgy, doesn’t it?
I found this tight blue dress at a yardsale for only $3! And last time I wore it I put tights underneath. But this is Halloween… that means a little leg & some knee high boot action is totally appropriate. haha
Here are some sexy little dresses I think would be great for Halloween:
I had envisioned wearing this shirt dress with knee high sweater socks, boots, and a scarf but since it warmed up this weekend I had to switch things up a bit. I know everyone is saying this but I too am ready for Fall! I want to wear sweaters and boots and all things warm and cozy!
I hope you had a lovely weekend! Let me know if you need outfit ideas for anything :)
This morning I shared with you a Lea Michele inspired look and mentioned that it seems to be a popular choice for celebs right now. And than! I came across this photo of Olivia Wilde wearing the tuxedo look to the London premiere for her new film Rush!
She’s wearing Gucci which I’m sure costs more than car but all you need is a basic fitted blazer and your choice of bottoms to make this look work! I listed a few link below in case you’re in need of a blazer :)
I know I’ve shared this outfit combo before but…. I just bought the perfect blue shoes for it. And guess what, they were only $13 bucks! I love comfortable shoes. I mean, I love the sexiness of heels and I do wear them but it’s nice to have shoes that just feel good. Lol. I don’t see the exact same shoes on H&M’s site but these are pretty close: Canvas Sneakers
Recognize this lovely young actress? You most likely remember Alexandra Daddario from Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. She’ll also be starring in the soon to be released sequel, Sea of Monsters.
The outfit she wore in her June Cosmo shoot was cute but pricey. I think a casual look like this should be way more affordable.
Ready to see the total cost for her look? Top: $ 375 10 Crosby Derek Lam Shorts: $141 James Jeans Bra: $98 Fortnight Grand Total: $614!!
And what’s it going to cost you to recreate it….$50! Or you could use a pair of jean shorts you already own and just find your self a striped top :)
I took an extra outfit with me to the desert on Saturday. Little did I know that the wind would be so intense! On the bright side I was able to get one non hair whipped face photo. Lol.
I’m still really loving the high-waisted skirt & crop top look. I just saw Kelly Osbourne’s Cosmo cover and I’m feeling inspired by her version of the trendy look. I want to recreate it using this skirt, a bustier, and a cute button-up. Maybe I’ll try that this weekend :)
I get to go shopping Sunday! It’s been a while since I last did some serious shopping. I’m definitely going to be hunting down deals to get the most bang for my buck. That’s sort of what inspired today’s post. I wish every season meant a brand new wardrobe but the reality of it is that, I have to find ways to rock seasonal stuff all year round. It allows you to have more outfit options no matter what time of year it is.
Major props to my mom for playing my photographer this morning! I think she did a great job. And yes, these shots would have been extra cool if I drove a Lambo or something but I don’t. Lol. I drive an ’98 honda civic and I love it! It’s the first and only car I’ve ever owned :)
I love doing style thief posts. They’re creative and I get to dress up…. that’s an ideal day in my book. This look was inspired by a not-so-typical and not-so-real celebrity, Lara Croft. The badass tomb raider hottie. No, I’m not a gamer but style inspiration can literally come from anywhere.
I saw a commercial featuring Lara’s new look and felt compelled to recreate it. If you wipe off my fake blood and lose my pseudo war wound bandages, you actually have a very wearable everyday outfit. And to me, that is one of the coolest parts. Most of my outfit was thrifted or already in my closet but I created a set with items to help you recreate the tomb raider look.
I really want to start doing more style thief posts and show you how to get the looks you love from movies, tv shows, magazines and anywhere else you can find inspiration. You can send me looks you want to see recreated via email: Niki@LoveNiki.com or leave a comment on my Facebook page: Facebook.com/MsLoveNiki
Here are a few pieces to help you recreate this look:
