Omg, it’s only Tuesday! Sigh… it’s already been a long week. Lol.
Tonight the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show is on and although I’d love to see it, it starts too late for this 26 years old grandma. Work is super busy this week so I need every minute of sleep I can get. I don’t usually fall asleep early but around 10 I start winding down with a hot shower and tea, sometimes I’ll pick up a book or if I’m lucky, I’ll cuddle up with Will and chat until I drift to sleep.
So even though I’ll likely be under the covers while the sexy, lingerie clad angels hit the runway tonight, I wanted to share in the fun!
Only 3 days left until the weekend, hang in there everyone!
I just wanted to share something fun. I’ve wrestled a lot with my thoughts on what is and isn’t appropriate for me to wear in this new stage of my life. Although there are some things I definitely want to avoid, I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with wanting to be “sexy”.
There’s a time and place for it but just because you’re becoming a wife or getting older, it doesn’t mean that you have to trade in your va-va-voom for mom jeans and turtlenecks.
I love to spice up my look from time to time. It’s fun! I also have an amazing fiance who is confident and secure in himself. He knows that he’s the only man I think of when I throw on my heels and a sexy little dress.
What are you thoughts on appropriate wifey attire? Is there anything you think is completely not okay to wear as you get older?
It’s been a hectic couple of weeks on my end but I’m excited to get back to this awesome advice series. I love reading the responses of such sweet, honest, and insightful women.

Today is the beginning of a new series here on Love, Niki. Every week or so, I’ll be sharing a post entitled, “Advice from a Wife”, where I interview a married woman and ask her to share her insight, advice and thoughts on marriage, wedding planning, and life as a Mrs. I hope this series will help both newlyweds and soon-to-be brides navigate this new chapter of their life.

Have you ever asked yourself if you were “too old for that”? I do, all the time. Quarter life crisis perhaps?
I’m currently in the process of updating my wardrobe because I felt it needed to “grow-up” a bit. It’s taking longer than I would have hoped but rebuilding a wardrobe is expensive and without a lot of extra room in the budget, I can’t just throw everything out and replace it.
As I window shop online and look for inspiration on how to fill my age-appropriate closet, I have come across some items that I am without a doubt, too old for.
Let’s take a look.
Ah yes, a quirky pair of colorful tights & a puffer vest . My inner 6 year old is quite pleased with this look.
While the color of this sweatshirt is nice, I don’t understand why they covered it in prepubescent slang vomit. Lol
This shirt is the reason love fades and babies cry.
What are your thoughts?!
Yes, I’m horrible. But… honest. Lol. My friends say I should edit myself less and say what I think and so there it is. Niki’s opinion fresh outta the oven! But it can’t be just me that thinks these things!
And in case you were wondering, these item are from F21, Urban Outfitters, Charlotte Russe, and Wet Seal. Maybe there’s a bigger issue at hand…
A last minute halloween costume ended up inspiring this fantasy shoot. With only a few moments to get ready for a halloween/birthday party this past Saturday morning, I threw together this simple gypsy look.
Will decided to take a back road on our way to the party and found this awesome photo spot. Isn’t it perfectly fitting?
I know most people only play dress-up once a year but I love creating fantasy looks year round. It’s so much fun!
I’m excited to hear what you think. Let me know what type of imaginative story comes to mind when you see this photo set.
I’m definitely a big fan of this candy-filled holiday but today my mind and heart are focused on something else. I have just lived through my second month as an engaged woman!
So far everything is moving along smoothly. We officially booked our venue a.k.a. 20% down(Thanks Grandma!). We’re so happy with our choice. It’s the perfect reflection of us. I’m going to do a whole post on it soon in case anyone else out there is looking for a spot in Southern California. I also want to share some ideas and maybe you guys can help me plan out a few things?!
I’ve also purchased my wedding dress, veil, petticoat, and shoes! I’m surprised how much got done this month. But I’m also really happy that I ordered my dress early so that they can sew me a brand new one! I’ll be the only girl to ever wear it, with the exception of my future daughter. I have a feeling she’s going to love it and beg to try it on.
That’s the latest for now, but there are more fun wedding posts coming soon!
