I have quite a few thoughts about this post. First, going out in cold weather involves more planning than I ever realized. And secondly, I’m officially too old for some outfits! Lol.
I went to a concert on Sunday for one of my favorite bands, Brand New, and it was really cold (low 40’s high 30’s). So I knew I’d have to wear something to keep me warm while heading to the show but than be able to remove the layers to fight the heat inside. Plus, I’d have to hold everything I took off since this was a standing room only kind of place.
My solution was a thick sweater I could tie around me, a scarf I knotted around my purse and a leather jacket that I’d simply have to hold. Pretty good right? The next issue occurred post concert when I realized I looked like a middle schooler. Lol.
I’m all for trying new things and experimenting with fashion but I’ve been aiming to refine my style. I’ve worn this top before with a pencil skirt and cropped leather jacket which created a fun but more ….age appropriate look.
I never want to stop having fun with my style but I do want to keep searching for the spot where fun meets classic and sexy meets sophisticated. Don’t get me wrong, I can still justify daisy dukes on a hot summer day and a well paired crop top but there are some sartorial things I must leave behind like baby blankets.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on ‘age-appropriate fashion’. What do you aim for when you get dressed?
